NongHyup Central Federation reviews second-half strategy, focusing on farmer support and profitability

NongHyup Central Federation convened a comprehensive management analysis meeting on July 27th to strategize for the latter half of the year, focusing on bolstering support for farmers and boosting the profitability of agricultural cooperatives. The gathering, held at the NongHyup headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul, brought together approximately 470 participants, including executives, affiliate representatives, and regional heads.

During the meeting, attendees reviewed the business performance of the first half of the year and outlined plans for the second half, with a particular emphasis on improving the financial health of agricultural entities. Discussions also included sharing best practices for supporting farmers and cooperatives, aiming to foster a more robust agricultural sector.

NongHyup Chairman Kang Ho-dong acknowledged the challenging economic environment, citing high inflation, fluctuating exchange rates, rising interest rates, and global uncertainties. He urged all affiliates to accelerate efforts to improve profitability, enabling more substantial support for farmers and cooperatives facing difficulties. Kang emphasized the need for internal change and innovation within NongHyup, encouraging a collective effort to revitalize agriculture and rural communities under the banner of 'Nongsim Cheonsim' (farmer's heart, people's heart).

The meeting also included a 'NongHyup Great Transformation' rally, underscoring the organization's commitment to achieving the goal of an annual agricultural income of 30 million won for farmers. Chairman Kang expressed his vision for creating 'Hopeful Agriculture, Happy Rural Communities' through these concerted efforts.
