Norris wins Hungarian Grand Prix for McLaren

Lando Norris achieved a significant milestone by winning the Hungarian Grand Prix for McLaren, marking the team's first victory of the season. The British driver held off strong competition at the Hungaroring circuit to claim the checkered flag.

Red Bull's Max Verstappen secured a second-place finish, while Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli finished third. Antonelli's consistent performance allowed him to extend his overall championship lead to 50 points. The race saw a potential McLaren one-two evaporate when Oscar Piastri was forced to pull over with a mechanical issue late in the race.

Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton initially finished fourth but was demoted to fifth place behind teammate Charles Leclerc following a five-second penalty for speeding in the pit lane. George Russell, also from Mercedes, finished seventh after recovering from a poor start that saw him drop to 19th. Russell remains third in the standings, 59 points behind his teammate Antonelli.
