North-Central APC forum backs Yari to deliver Tinubu’s 2027 victory

The North-Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum has expressed strong confidence in former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, to lead President Bola Tinubu's re-election campaign and secure victory in 2027. The forum congratulated Yari on his appointment as Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, viewing it as a strategic move that consolidates support in the North.

In a statement released Wednesday, the forum's chairman, Saleh Zazzaga, highlighted Yari's widespread acceptance across northern states and his respected status among traditional, political, religious, youth, and women leaders. The forum believes Yari's track record and influence make him the ideal candidate to rally support for Tinubu and the APC. The appointment also recognized other North-Central members, including James Faleke as Deputy Director-General for Election Planning and Okpokwu Ogenyi as North-Central Coordinator.

Senator Yari is a politician that is widely accepted across the northern states – North-East, North-West and North-Central. He is a respected leader who is regarded as a rallying point for progressives in the North and other parts of the country. He is someone that is respected and embraced by the Emirs and other political leaders, as well as religious leaders, the youths and women.

The forum emphasized that Yari's appointment was not surprising, given his consistent efforts and resource investment in mobilizing support for the "Renewed Hope Agenda." Yari, a former governor and a founding member of the APC, has a significant political history, including serving as Chairman of the Nigeria Governors' Forum. His experience in party administration, including roles in the defunct ANPP, further bolsters the forum's conviction in his ability to deliver electoral success.
