North Korea rejects Quad denuclearization call: 'Never, ever happen'

North Korea has issued a strong rejection of the Quad's call for denuclearization, stating unequivocally that "denuclearization" of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea will "never, ever happen."

The statement from North Korea's Foreign Ministry came in response to a joint declaration by the Quad, comprising the United States, Japan, Australia, and India, following their foreign ministerial meeting in New Delhi. The Quad had condemned North Korea's "unlawful ballistic missile and weapons of mass destruction-related activities and cyber activities," reaffirming their commitment to the "complete denuclearization of North Korea."

The Quad participants, led by the United States, have brought up 'denuclearization' while interfering in the legitimate sovereign rights of our country, proving that the Quad is merely a political and diplomatic tool for realizing America's unilateral dominance strategy.

North Korea's Foreign Ministry spokesperson accused the Quad of being a "political and diplomatic tool" serving the U.S.'s strategy of "unilateral dominance." The spokesperson further criticized the Quad's joint statement for distorting pressing challenges in the Asia-Pacific region and exposing "hostile intentions" toward specific countries. The ministry also pointed to the Quad's concerns regarding the East and South China Seas, interpreting it as a move to curb China's influence. Additionally, North Korea suggested the Quad's statement aimed to legitimize Japan's rearmament efforts and Australia's acquisition of nuclear-powered submarines.
