Northern Vietnam Faces Heavy Rain, Southern Regions See Sun and Showers

Northern Vietnam is bracing for significant rainfall and thunderstorms, particularly in its mountainous and midland areas. The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting predicts moderate to heavy rain from the evening of June 15 through June 16, with accumulations potentially reaching 30-80mm. Some locations may even experience extremely heavy downpours exceeding 170mm, and there is a warning for rainfall intensity surpassing 100mm within a three-hour period.

In contrast, the northern delta regions will experience hot, sunny days, followed by scattered rain and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening. Meanwhile, areas from Thanh Hoa to Da Nang and the eastern parts of provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak will face hot and very hot sunny conditions.

Other regions will see scattered rain and thunderstorms. The Central Highlands and Southern Vietnam are expected to have sunny days, with afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms, some of which could be heavy. Residents in all affected areas should be aware of potential hazards associated with thunderstorms, including lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.

Detailed forecasts for June 15 include Hanoi experiencing hot sunny weather with afternoon/evening rain and thunderstorms, temperatures ranging from 27-29°C at night to 34-36°C during the day. The Northwest region will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon and night, with temperatures between 23-27°C and 31-34°C. The Northeast region will also see scattered rain and thunderstorms, with some areas receiving heavy rain, while delta areas will be hot and sunny before evening storms. Temperatures will range from 24-28°C to 31-36°C.
