Nova Gradiška to Elect Mayor for Third Time in Just Over a Year

Residents of Nova Gradiška are heading to the polls for the third time in just over a year to elect a mayor on September 6. The necessity for another election stems from the resignation of former mayor Vinko Grgić, who is under suspicion of corruption and has stepped down to avoid re-entering pre-trial detention.

I accepted the candidacy because I believe that a lot of good things have been done in Nova Gradiška, and if we continue, and the motto of our campaign is "Nova Gradiška moves forward," we can do a lot more good things. We will strive to stay on this track and realize everything planned.

Three candidates are vying for the top city position. Sabina Vlaović represents the Independent List previously led by Grgić and is the current acting mayor. She stated that her decision to run was difficult but made after consulting with family, friends, and council members. Vlaović emphasized that her list would maintain a focus on the daily lives of citizens and continue the good work already done, campaigning under the slogan "Nova Gradiška moves forward."

Bruno Bušić of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) presented his "Team FOR the city" program, which he claims focuses on clear measures for the economy, families, pensioners, sports, health, security, and development in every settlement. He stressed the need for stability and an administration that works diligently every day, highlighting that his team consists of individuals ready to take responsibility from day one.

Nova Gradiška has people, potential, and projects, and the city now needs stability, order, and an administration that does its job every day. Our "Team FOR the city" consists of people who know their job, take responsibility for specific sectors, and are ready to work from day one.

Borislav Vidošić, running as an independent candidate under the "Nova Gradiška for all!" list, cited his previous eight years within the system as a reason for offering citizens a stable, responsible option with experience. He believes citizens are tired of the current political dynamics and that his campaign offers honest and continuous work.
