Novska Hosts Fifth Summer Gaming Camp for Young Students

Novska, recognized as a hub for Croatia's gaming industry, is currently hosting its fifth Summer Gaming Camp for elementary school students.

The camp, held at the PISMO Entrepreneurial Incubator powered by A1, has welcomed 37 elementary school students from Croatia and abroad for its first session. Over seven days, participants are immersed in creating their own video games, developing essential digital skills, and participating in a blend of educational and fun activities.

Over seven days, participants will create their own video game, develop digital skills, participate in numerous educational and fun activities, and meet new friends in Novska, the center of the Croatian gaming industry.

The program is structured into three terms, catering to different skill levels: basic, advanced, and advanced plus. It is designed for students from the 4th to 8th grade. Daily workshops focus on video game development, complemented by activities involving the incubator's advanced technology, STEM workshops in the Novsky laboratory, and sessions on communication skills.

The Summer Gaming Camp is held in three terms and is adapted to different levels of prior knowledge – basic, advanced, and advanced plus. The program is intended for students from the 4th to 8th grade.

This year's camp introduces the "A1 Playmakers Challenge," an innovative hybrid esports concept merging real-life football with EA SPORTS FC 2026 on PlayStation 5. Teams will play half a match on a football field and the other half on the console, with the highest combined score determining the winner. The event also features a panel discussion on the connection between sports, gaming, and digital skill development.

Beyond game development, campers will experience nature activities, including programming in Lonjsko Polje Nature Park, fishing at Lake Bajer, and orienteering at Novljansko Lake. They will also receive education on internet safety. Prizes are available for the top teams in the A1 Playmakers Challenge.
