NRS launches Rev360 digital platform to ease tax compliance

The Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) has officially unveiled Rev360, a new digital platform designed to streamline tax filing and enhance compliance for taxpayers. This launch signifies the agency's commitment to fostering voluntary tax compliance and ensuring accessible tax services.

The introduction of Rev360 is a key step in Nigeria's ongoing efforts to modernize its tax structure, moving from manual processes to a fully digitized system. The platform embodies an integrated, taxpayer-centric Tax Administration 3.0 approach. This initiative aligns with the government's recent adoption of new tax laws in January, which aim to increase revenue, improve collection efficiency, and bring the tax system in line with international best practices.

Zacch Adedeji, the chairman of the NRS, described Rev360 as a transformative tool. He stated that the platform is expected to significantly enhance service delivery, improve compliance management, boost transparency, and simplify interactions between taxpayers and the tax authority. "Rev360 represents a significant step towards building a more modern, efficient, and responsive tax administration system that aligns with global best practices and the evolving needs of taxpayers and businesses," Adedeji remarked.

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, represented by Federal Ministry of Finance permanent secretary Mohammed Dabjuma, praised the NRS's transformation and Rev360's potential to boost revenue generation and compliance. The minister highlighted the platform's critical role in improving business activities, enhancing investor confidence, and advancing the government's economic reform agenda. Efficient, technology-driven tax administration systems are now considered the foundation of modern economies, fostering transparent, predictable, and business-friendly environments conducive to sustainable economic growth.
