NSCDC arressts 10 suspected vandals, robbers in Kano

Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kano State have apprehended 10 individuals suspected of engaging in criminal activities, including vandalism, theft, criminal conspiracy, trespass, and receiving stolen property. The arrests were made at various locations throughout the state, encompassing areas such as Gwarmai in the Ghari local government area, the Challawa industrial area, and Unguwar Rimi and Waratallawa in Kumbotso local government area.

The suspects were paraded on Tuesday at the command's headquarters by the State Commandant, Mohammed Hassan Agalama IION. The recovered exhibits from the apprehended individuals included 200 meters of aluminum conductor cables, copper wire, mobile phones, power banks, and various dangerous weapons such as knives, cutlasses, swords, and scissors. The NSCDC stated that investigations into these cases have been concluded.

The command reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding critical national assets and infrastructure, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy towards all criminal acts. Commandant Agalama IION urged the public to continue supporting security agencies by providing information to help tackle security challenges within the state.

In a related development, the Kwara State Command of the NSCDC recently arrested three men for alleged illegal mining and unlawful transportation of suspected solid minerals in Ilorin. The suspects, identified as Musa Abdullahi (45), Aliyu Ibrahim (20), and Ishaq Ibrahim (51), were apprehended during an intelligence-led operation by the Mines and Steel Unit.
