NSCDC foils kidnapping, cattle rustling in Kano

Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kano State have successfully thwarted an attempted kidnapping and cattle rustling operation in the Dangora area of Kiru Local Government. The incident occurred when armed assailants attacked a shepherd, inflicting injuries, and abducted his two children while attempting to rustle livestock.

Upon receiving a distress report, NSCDC personnel stationed near the nearby Dansoshiya Forest mobilized rapidly. They engaged the criminals in a gun duel, overwhelming the assailants with a superior response. The suspects, unable to withstand the NSCDC operatives' advance, abandoned the kidnapped children and fled into the forest, sustaining injuries in the process.

Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence, Kano State Command, have successfully foiled an attempted kidnap and cattle rustling incident at Bakin Komau, Dangora area of Kiru Local Government Area of Kano State.

The two rescued individuals, identified as Abubakar Saleh, 36, and Muhammad Inuwa Dille, 30, have since been reunited with their families. The injured shepherd, 70-year-old Alhaji Saleh, received immediate medical attention.

The NSCDC personnel were deployed in the area as part of security measures for an ongoing dam construction project and to protect grazing reserves and farming communities from criminal activities. The Kano State Command, under Commandant Mohammed Hassan Agalama, reiterated its dedication to safeguarding lives, property, and critical national assets, while appealing to the public for continued provision of credible information to aid prompt responses to security threats.

Overwhelmed by the superior response of the NSCDC operatives, the suspects abandoned the kidnapped children and fled into the forest with injuries, thereby thwarting the criminal mission.
