NT$160 Million Non-Profit Kindergarten in Huwei High-Speed Rail Zone Opens for Enrollment

A new non-profit kindergarten, a joint NT$160 million investment by the central government and Yunlin County, is nearing completion in the Huwei High-Speed Rail Special Zone. The facility, designed with a modern aesthetic featuring concrete, steel, and a wooden roof, is poised to become a new landmark in the area.

Construction is complete, and the building has received its occupancy permit. Victoria International School, selected to manage the kindergarten, announced on its Facebook page that classes are scheduled to commence in September as planned. Children who turn two years old before September 1 are eligible for enrollment, with detailed registration information to be released soon.

The kindergarten is strategically located near the National Taiwan University Hospital's Huwei Campus and the Yunlin High-Speed Rail Station. The Yunlin County government highlighted the growing demand for early childhood education in the Huwei High-Speed Rail area, driven by the influx of population due to the establishment of the Central Science Park and the university hospital, alongside rapid residential development.

To meet this demand, the county secured over NT$82 million in central government subsidies and contributed NT$76.96 million from its own budget. The kindergarten will feature eight classrooms, capable of enrolling more than 200 students across various age groups, including toddler classes, small, medium, and large classes. The facility's design incorporates a two-story reinforced concrete and steel structure with a distinctive wooden roof.
