NYSC anniversary celebrations to become annual nationwide event - DG

The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Olakunle Nafiu, has announced a significant decision to make the scheme's anniversary celebration an annual nationwide event. This move aims to institutionalize the recognition of excellence, dedication, and outstanding service among both NYSC staff and the corps members who participate in the national service.

I am pleased to announce that the celebration of the NYSC anniversary shall henceforth be a piece to analyse as an annual event across all formations, nation wide. The celebration will serve not only as a period of reflection and testimony, but also as an avenue to recognise and reward excellence, dedication and outstanding service among members of staff.

Speaking at the 53rd anniversary commemoration in Abuja, the DG stated that the annual celebration will serve as a crucial period for reflection and testimony, highlighting the NYSC's invaluable contributions to national development. Merit awards, including certificates of merit, will be presented to individuals who distinguish themselves through meritorious service, integrity, and exceptional productivity.
