Two police officers sustained injuries after being stabbed by suspected muggers during a pursuit in Dhaka's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area early Tuesday. The incident occurred around 1:00 AM near the Glass Bridge at Zia Udyan, according to police reports.

The injured officers, identified as Sub-Inspector Shamsuzzoha, 34, and Constable Mohammad Hridoy Hossain, 20, are both attached to the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station. They were on patrol when they attempted to intercept three unidentified muggers who were fleeing on a battery-run rickshaw after committing a robbery.

During the chase, one of the suspects allegedly attacked the officers with a sharp weapon, inflicting stab wounds. Police managed to detain two of the alleged muggers at the scene. The injured officers were promptly rescued by colleagues and transported to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital for initial treatment.

Following primary care, the officers were transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for advanced treatment. Mahmudul Hasan, a sub-inspector at the DMCH police camp, confirmed that both officers are currently being treated in Ward No. 4 of the hospital's emergency department. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
