The head of India's Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), Parag Jain, concluded a visit to Dhaka after meeting with a senior Bangladeshi defense official. Jain, who also serves as secretary of India's Special Protection Group (SPG), led a four-member delegation during the official trip.

The delegation met with Brig Gen (Retd) Dr AKM Shamsul Islam, Defence Affairs Adviser to Bangladesh's Prime Minister. The visit, which began with the delegation's arrival from New Delhi, was extended at the invitation of Bangladesh's Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI).

Sources in Dhaka characterized the meeting as a "routine visit." Such exchanges are common between the intelligence agencies of India and Bangladesh, with DGFI delegations visiting India and RAW officials reciprocating with visits to Dhaka approximately every other year.

During these visits, officials from both sides share their observations and perspectives on the prevailing security situation and other relevant matters. The Indian delegation departed for New Delhi shortly after concluding their meeting.
