North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has conveyed his pride in the deepening relationship between his country and Russia, emphasizing their strong alliance in a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin. This exchange underscores the growing ties between the two nations, particularly in the context of Russia's ongoing war in Ukraine.

Kim expressed his confidence in Russia's future success and its ability to defend its territorial integrity under Putin's leadership. He highlighted the "comprehensive strategic partnership" between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and Russia, noting their active cooperation in various sectors aimed at ensuring regional security and stability.

Putin, in a letter delivered to Kim, described the bilateral relations as having reached an "unprecedentedly high level." Kyiv has also claimed that up to 50,000 North Korean troops are expected to be deployed to Russia, though no evidence or timeframe has been provided for this assertion. These developments have led to requests from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for Seoul to supply air defense systems, a request that South Korea has yet to fulfill.
