Dhaka police apprehended 422 individuals during anti-crime operations conducted across the capital over the last 24 hours. The Metropolitan Police Department (DMP) also filed 89 cases during the same period as part of its intensified efforts to combat crime. The arrests and operations spanned various divisions within Dhaka, including Ramna, Lalbagh, Wari, Motijheel, Tejgaon, Mirpur, Gulshan, and Uttara.

According to a press release from the DMP Media Wing, the Mirpur Division recorded the highest number of arrests with 96 individuals detained. Other divisions also saw significant detentions, with Tejgaon reporting 82 arrests and Gulshan 34. The Detective Branch (DB) also contributed to the overall arrests.

During these coordinated drives, law enforcement seized substantial amounts of illicit substances. Recovered items included 1.355 kilograms of cannabis, 10,524 yaba tablets, and 53 grams of heroin. Additionally, police confiscated a shotgun, a knife, a laptop, 15 mobile phones, 160 SIM cards, a private car, a truck, and Tk 2,880 in cash. The DMP stated that the arrests were made during operations carried out by its crime and detective units.
