Measles continues to claim lives, with three more children dying in the 24 hours leading up to 8:00 am yesterday. These latest fatalities, classified as suspected measles deaths by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), push the combined tally of confirmed and suspected measles-related deaths to 686.

The number of suspected measles deaths has now reached 593, while the count of laboratory-confirmed deaths remains unchanged at 93. During the same 24-hour period, the country reported 1,009 new suspected measles cases, bringing the cumulative total of suspected cases nationwide to 94,764. Additionally, 126 new confirmed measles cases were recorded, increasing the total number of laboratory-confirmed infections to 11,297.

Since April 10, a significant number of patients, totaling 78,716, have been hospitalized with suspected measles across the country. The DGHS data indicates that a substantial majority, 74,971 of these patients, have since recovered.
