The convoy of National Citizen Party (NCP) leaders faced two stone-pelting attacks in Golapganj upazila, Sylhet, Bangladesh, resulting in damaged vehicle windows but no reported injuries. The incidents occurred while NCP Chief Organiser (North) Sarjis Alam and other party officials were visiting Golapganj to meet families of individuals martyred during the July Uprising.

Overall security was ensured, but still a stone was thrown. It broke the glass of a vehicle, but no one was injured. We are escorting the NCP convoy to Kanaighat upazila under tight security.

Witnesses reported that as the convoy arrived at the Municipality Hall for a meeting, some individuals chanted slogans. Similar chants were heard as the convoy departed for Kanaighat upazila, at which point the first stone-pelting incident took place. Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shah Alam confirmed that a stone broke a vehicle's glass but stated no one was injured, and security personnel were escorting the convoy.

Following the first incident, Sarjis Alam publicly accused BNP activists of orchestrating the attack, calling them "terrorists" and alleging vandalism. A second obstruction and attempted attack occurred later at Panchmile Bazar as the convoy was en route to a lunch venue. Alam confirmed the obstruction but noted that all necessary security measures were in place, including police and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) standby, and that the day's programs concluded peacefully.

Sylhet Deputy Commissioner Abdullah Al Mamun stated that two isolated stone-pelting incidents occurred, and comprehensive security arrangements were made for the convoy. He assured that there were no security threats for public meetings scheduled in Kanaighat and Osmaninagar.

There were two isolated incidents of stone-pelting on the convoy on the road. All steps have been taken for the overall security of the convoy of NCP leaders. Along with adequate police, the BGB is also on standby. Both the programmes ended peacefully. There is no security threat in organising public meetings in Kanaighat and Osmaninagar.
