A young leader of the National Citizen Party (NCP) in Chattogram, Bangladesh, died tragically late last night. Faiyaz Tajrian, 28, a member of the NCP Chattogram City Convening Committee, was killed when his motorcycle crashed into a stationary covered van on the Akhtaruzzaman Flyover.

The accident happened around 10:00 PM when Tajrian entered the flyover from the Lalkhan Bazar intersection. His motorcycle collided with the rear of the covered van, which police believe had broken down and was likely undergoing repairs at the time. The impact was severe, causing the motorcycle to go underneath the van and killing Tajrian instantly.

The motorcycle hit the stationary vehicle at high speed and went underneath it, killing the rider on the spot.

Authorities reported that the driver of the covered van was not present at the scene and is believed to have fled immediately after the crash. The vehicle has since been seized by the Chattogram Metropolitan Police. The body of the deceased was transported to a hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Party officials expressed shock and disbelief at the sudden death of their colleague. Ridwan Hridoy, NCP Chattogram City Unit Office Secretary, stated that Tajrian had spent the day with fellow party members and attended an event earlier in the evening. "We still cannot believe what happened. It is shocking," Hridoy said.
