Hundreds of locals protested outside the residence of Jashore-4 lawmaker Prof Golam Rasul on Tuesday, blocking the Jashore-Narail highway for nearly three hours. The demonstration stemmed from allegations that the lawmaker's daughter assaulted a madrasa student and a woman.

Protesters demanded legal action against the lawmaker and his daughter. Eyewitnesses reported that the dispute centered on Al Madrasatus Shariyah and its adjoining mosque. Tensions resurfaced after allegations that the madrasa had been instructed to close. One protester claimed hot water was thrown from the lawmaker's house at demonstrators.

Golam Rasul's wife, Sharmin Dina, rejected the accusations. She stated their daughter, Anannya, suffers from mental health issues. Dina claimed that although the madrasa was officially closed, children gathered on the premises, causing disturbances. She alleged baseless accusations were made against them with malicious intent after the family objected.

Police dispersed the protesters and restored traffic around 1:00 p.m. Jashore Kotwali Model Police Station officer-in-charge Masum Khan stated that appropriate legal action would be taken following further investigation. Attempts to contact Prof Golam Rasul were unsuccessful.
