A tragic road accident in Chattogram, Bangladesh, claimed the lives of an elderly father and his son. Durga Pada Mallick, 75, and his son, Bidhan Mallick, 46, were killed when their motorcycle was struck by a pickup van on the Shah Amanat Bridge road in Karnaphuli upazila.

The accident occurred around 8:00am when the Chattogram-bound freight pickup van hit the motorcycle coming from opposite direction.

The collision occurred around 8:00 a.m. as the Chattogram-bound pickup van collided with the motorcycle traveling in the opposite direction. Durga Pada Mallick died at the scene due to the severity of his injuries. His son, Bidhan Mallick, who was critically injured, was rushed to Chattogram Medical College Hospital but passed away around 11:30 a.m.

Durga Pada died on the spot. Critically injured, Bidhan was taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital where he died around 11:30am.

Authorities have seized the pickup van involved in the incident. The driver of the van managed to flee the scene following the accident. Police are currently in the process of filing a case related to the fatalities.
