In Delta State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has solidified Governor Sheriff Oborevwori's position as their candidate for the 2027 governorship election, granting him an unopposed ticket. The party's ratification process, which included direct primaries across all 25 local government areas, saw Oborevwori garner an overwhelming 345,375 votes. This decisive show of support underscores the party's confidence in his leadership and past performance.

Party officials, including Vita Okafor, the APC's National Working Committee (NWC) Delta chairman and returning officer, lauded Oborevwori for his impactful achievements, policies, and programs. I, Sir Vita Okafor, chairman Governorship Primary Election Committee, hereby certify that I am the returning officer for the Delta state Governorship Primary Election, held on May 21, 2026. The aspirant, Gov. Shariff Oborevwori, scored a total of 345,375 votes. Having satisfied the requirements of the APC constitution and guidelines and scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared winner of the primary election. He is also returned as the party’s governorship candidate in Delta State for the 2027 general elections.

The event, attended by the state deputy governor, members of the Delta State House of Assembly, and other party stalwarts, signifies a unified front for the APC in Delta.
