Oluremi Tinubu to visit Anambra on September 10

Nigeria’s First Lady Oluremi Tinubu will visit Anambra State on September 10, marking her first trip there since assuming the role. The visit is being presented as a new phase in the partnership between the federal government and the state.

A central event will be the empowerment of 5,000 people through the Progressives United Against Poverty Initiative. The program supports the Renewed Hope Initiative Economic Support Scheme championed by the president’s wife and is aimed at helping people and households become more economically productive.

The empowerment programme is designed to provide beneficiaries with practical economic support and opportunities to improve their livelihoods, with particular attention to people and households requiring assistance to become more economically productive.

Tinubu will also launch the National Community Food Bank Programme for the South-East geopolitical zone in Anambra. The initiative seeks to strengthen food security and support vulnerable households amid concerns about hunger and nutrition.

Her itinerary includes a visit to Federal Polytechnic, Oko, where she is expected to commission key projects. The visit follows President Bola Tinubu’s state visit to Anambra on May 8, 2025, when he described the relationship between the federal government and the state as one based on partnership and shared prosperity.
