Oman, Kuwait Back Regional Stability Through Dialogue and Cooperation

Oman and Kuwait have reaffirmed their commitment to bolstering regional security and stability through enhanced coordination and dialogue. The two Gulf nations stressed the importance of diplomatic engagement to tackle pressing challenges during the 11th session of the Oman-Kuwait Joint Committee, held in Al Jabal Al Akhdar, Oman.

The meeting was held in implementation of the supreme directives of the leaderships of the two countries, calling for deepening bilateral cooperation, particularly in the economic, commercial, cultural, and scientific fields, and exchanging expertise to achieve greater integration and partnership between Oman and Kuwait.

The meeting, co-chaired by Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi and his Kuwaiti counterpart Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah, underscored the deep fraternal ties between the two countries. Discussions centered on expanding bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including economic, commercial, cultural, and scientific fields, aligning with the directives of Oman's Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and Kuwait's Emir Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah.

Al Busaidi highlighted that the regular convening of the joint committee signifies a shared commitment to strengthening institutional frameworks that propel cooperative relations to more advanced levels. He noted the importance of exchanging expertise to foster greater integration and partnership between Oman and Kuwait.

Sheikh Jarrah remarked that the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations, celebrated this year, reflects the significant development and growth in ties between the two nations. Both foreign ministers described Omani-Kuwaiti relations as a model of sincere fraternal bonds within the Gulf Cooperation Council. The session concluded with the signing of a memorandum of understanding in cybersecurity and an executive program in standardization, further cementing their collaborative efforts.
