Oman, Niger discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation, developing economic partnership

Oman and Niger are strengthening their diplomatic and economic relationship, with both nations agreeing to pursue further cooperation. Oman's Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, held talks with Niger's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Nigeriens Abroad, Bakary Yaou Sangaré, in Muscat. The discussions focused on identifying opportunities to develop commercial and economic partnerships between the two countries. Both sides committed to actively follow up on existing agreements and memorandums of understanding. The goal is to encourage greater exchange and communication between their respective government and private sectors. They also aim to boost commercial and investment activities and enhance capacity building to ensure mutual benefits and shared interests are achieved. During the meeting, the ministers also shared perspectives on several regional and international matters of mutual concern. They emphasized the importance of ongoing consultation and coordination between Oman and Niger. The talks were attended by key officials from both nations, including Dr. Mohammed Ali Al Balushi, Head of the Africa Department at Oman's Foreign Ministry.
