Oman's honey production tops 934,000 kgs in 2025

The Sultanate of Oman's honey production has experienced substantial growth, with output increasing from 623,313 kg in 2023 to 934,443 kg in 2025. This upward trend reflects the expanding beekeeping sector across the nation.

North Al Sharqiyah Governorate emerged as the leading honey-producing region in 2025, contributing 248,547 kg. Other significant contributors included Al Dakhiliyah and North Al Batinah governorates. The sector's infrastructure remains stable, with 47 establishments dedicated to honey and beeswax production, alongside two facilities producing specialized honey products.

In terms of trade, Oman imported approximately OMR 2.131 million worth of strained natural honey, with the People's Republic of China being the largest supplier. India and Saudi Arabia followed. The Sultanate also imported smaller quantities of honey in comb and wooden beehives.

Oman's honey exports reached OMR 648,274, with Lebanon being the primary destination. Qatar, Jordan, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates were also significant importers of Omani honey. The data highlights a dynamic honey market within Oman, characterized by both robust domestic production and active international trade.
