Oman's Sultan's Armed Forces Shooting Team wins multiple honors at UK championships

Oman's Sultan's Armed Forces Shooting Team has achieved remarkable success at the British Army Rifle Association and National Rifle Association shooting championships held in the United Kingdom.

The Omani contingent secured a total of seven trophies across the competitions. They earned five trophies in the British Army Rifle Association events and an additional two trophies, alongside several first-place finishes, in the National Rifle Association competitions. The championships are taking place at the Lydd and Hythe ranges and feature international teams from various countries.

A standout achievement came at the individual level, where Warrant Officer Azzan bin Abdullah bin Nasser Al Abri of the Royal Guard of Oman was awarded the highly esteemed King’s Medal for Shooting. This medal is one of the most distinguished honors in the international shooters category at the championship.

Further individual accolades included First Lieutenant Saeed bin Salem Al Mishiqri of the Royal Oman Police, who claimed first place in the Re-Organisation of the Butts competition. Sergeant Hamad bin Nasser Al Kiyoumi of the Royal Air Force of Oman also secured a first-place finish in the Defence competition.

Lieutenant Colonel Staff Musallam bin Abdullah Al Subhi, Commander of the International Shooting Unit and Head of the Omani Delegation, attributed the team's success to their high level of preparation and training. He acknowledged the strong competition presented by both British and international teams participating in the event.
