Oman to field ten national teams at 2026 Asian Games in Japan

The Sultanate of Oman is set to participate in the 20th Asian Games, "Aichi-Nagoya 2026," hosted by Japan, with a delegation competing across ten national sporting disciplines. The Games are scheduled from September 19 to October 4, 2026.

Oman's Olympic Committee will field teams in athletics, taekwondo, shooting, hockey, golf, fencing, cricket, weightlifting, sailing, and beach volleyball. This participation underscores Oman's dedication to major regional athletic competitions, as its athletes aim to showcase their preparation and dedication on a significant Asian stage.

The Oman Olympic Committee is finalizing logistical and administrative arrangements to ensure optimal conditions for its athletes and support staff. Preparations are focused on strengthening team readiness and maximizing the benefits of participating in this prestigious event. The national hockey team will kick off Oman's campaign, competing from September 18 to October 3.

Other teams will follow, with the shooting team competing from September 20 to October 1, featuring 6 male and 2 female shooters in various disciplines like skeet, trap, and pistol. The beach volleyball team will compete from September 20 to October 3. Fencing follows from September 22 to 27, with both male and female fencers participating in foil and épée events. Weightlifting competitions are scheduled from September 23 to 29, featuring three Omani athletes. Athletics will see a substantial presence from September 24 to 29, with 8 male and 3 female athletes competing in track and field events. The national cricket team is also set to participate from September 24 to October 3 with a 15-player squad.
