Omani nationals top passenger numbers at Muscat airport in July

Omani nationals recorded the highest passenger movement through Muscat International Airport in July 2026, with 204,591 arrivals and departures combined. The figure included 95,111 arrivals and 109,480 departures.

Indian nationals ranked second, with 169,751 passengers, followed by Bangladeshi nationals with 46,665. The figures come from the latest data issued by Oman’s National Centre for Statistics and Information.

Across Oman’s airports, total passenger traffic reached approximately 7,689,967 by the end of July, including arrivals, departures and transit passengers. That represented an 8.1% decline from the 8,366,273 passengers recorded during the same period in 2025.

International flights arriving at and departing from Muscat, Salalah and Sohar totaled 45,904 through July, down 9.5% from 50,747 a year earlier. Muscat International Airport handled 6,855,942 passengers across 49,315 international and domestic flights, with passenger traffic down 8%.

International flights at Muscat fell 8.4% to 43,970, while international passenger numbers dropped 9% to 6,164,584. Domestic traffic moved in the opposite direction: flights increased 3.1% to 5,345, and passenger numbers rose 2% to 691,358.

Salalah Airport recorded 797,620 passengers across 5,569 flights, down 8.4% in passenger traffic. International flights and passengers fell sharply, while domestic flights rose 16.2% to 3,705 and domestic passenger numbers increased 9.5% to 551,363.
