On and New Balance launch specialized footwear for training and tennis

Athletic footwear is evolving to meet the increasingly specialized demands of modern sports enthusiasts. Swiss brand On is addressing this trend with its new X series, featuring the Cloud X 5 and Cloud X Tempo. The Cloud X 5 is engineered for stability in strength training and bodyweight exercises, with a design that emphasizes ground feel and secure footing. Its counterpart, the Cloud X Tempo, is built for versatile mixed training, incorporating a dual-layer midsole for cushioning and support, and a secure heel counter for dynamic movements.

Both On models utilize CleanCloud® material, an EVA foam derived from industrial carbon emissions, combined with On's signature CloudTec® and Helion™ technologies. This approach not only enhances performance but also incorporates sustainable practices. The Cloud X 5 is priced at 5,380 yuan, while the Cloud X Tempo is available for 5,980 yuan in various colorways.

Meanwhile, New Balance is also segmenting its offerings. The SC Rebel aims to bridge the gap between daily training shoes and high-performance racing models. It features Infinion supercritical foam, similar to that in their flagship SC Elite v6, providing a soft landing and responsive rebound. A carbon fiber Pebax plate enhances propulsion during faster runs, while the FANTOMFIT upper offers a secure and breathable fit for diverse training paces and distances. The SC Rebel costs 5,680 yuan.

Beyond running, New Balance is stepping onto the tennis court with the Coco Delray, inspired by tennis star Coco Gauff's training grounds in Florida. These shoes integrate professional tennis features into a low-top silhouette. They boast a FuelCell midsole for responsive cushioning and a stability plate for quick stops and lateral movements. The Ndurance rubber outsole and hexagonal tread pattern ensure grip on various court surfaces, with reinforced toe areas for durability during intense play. The Coco Delray is priced at 3,280 yuan.
