One dead, 15 injured in Tandapi bus accident

A serious traffic accident occurred on the Alóag-Santo Domingo highway in Tandapi, Ecuador, on Friday afternoon, leaving one person dead and 15 others injured. The incident was reported to the ECU 911 emergency service at 4:29 PM.

Emergency response teams, including the National Police, Quito Fire Department, and representatives from the Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security (IESS) and the Provincial Government of Pichincha, were dispatched to the scene. They are currently providing assistance to those affected by the crash.

This incident follows another bus accident reported earlier in the week in Manabí, which resulted in two fatalities and seven injuries. Additionally, a separate bus collision in Tandapi was reported to have caused one death and five injuries.

Separately, on the same day, an alert was issued regarding a forest fire in the Cayambe sector of Cusubamba. The ECU 911 coordinated with the fire departments of Ascázubi and Cayambe to address the blaze. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities have been reported in connection with the forest fire thus far.
