One feared killed, three injured in Plateau tricycle crash

A passenger has reportedly died and three others sustained injuries following a collision between two commercial tricycles on Haske Road near the Lamingo Golf Club in Jos, Plateau State.

The accident occurred on Monday evening when one of the tricycle operators, known locally as Keke Napep, attempted to maneuver around a pothole. This maneuver led to a collision with an oncoming tricycle.

An eyewitness, Joseph Haruna, told The PUNCH that the crash happened around 5 pm. He stated that the impact of the collision resulted in one passenger's death at the scene. Three other occupants of the tricycles suffered varying degrees of injuries and were promptly taken to a nearby hospital by sympathizers and emergency responders.

Another witness, who wished to remain anonymous, described the incident as tragic. This witness urged authorities to address the dangerous road conditions, specifically the potholes along Haske Road, which they believe pose a significant risk to motorists and other road users.

The crash caused temporary traffic disruptions along Haske Road as residents and commuters gathered at the scene. The Federal Road Safety Corps in Plateau State has stated that they are verifying the details of the incident.
