One killed and four injured after van hits median on highway in Boryeong

A woman in her 60s died after a van crashed into a median barrier on the Seohaean Expressway in Boryeong, South Korea.

The crash occurred at about 4 a.m. on the city-bound ramp near Daecheon Tollgate in Namgok-dong, according to highway patrol officials. The passenger was taken to hospital in cardiac arrest but later died. The driver and three other occupants suffered minor injuries.

Police suspect drowsy driving and are investigating the precise cause of the crash.
