Online Hanwoo Market to Offer Chuseok Discounts Ahead of Holiday

Consumers preparing for Chuseok will be able to buy Hanwoo beef online at discounted prices from Sept. 7 to 10. The four-day event, organized by the Hanwoo Beef Promotion Committee, will offer grilling cuts, butchered beef, byproducts and processed foods in one marketplace.

The listed prices for grade-one Hanwoo, based on 100 grams, include 7,370 won for sirloin, 8,330 won for striploin, 4,260 won for brisket and 3,250 won for bulgogi or soup meat. Buyers can also choose products such as beef bones, ox feet and intestines, as well as tteokgalbi, Hanwoo meatballs, beef soup and dried beef.

For the first time, the market will sell Hanwoo gift sets. The “One Plus Hanwoo Thank-You Gift Set,” containing 1.8 kilograms of sirloin and bulgogi beef, will cost around 120,000 won. The “Two Plus Hanwoo Sincere Gift Set,” with 2.4 kilograms of sirloin, bulgogi and soup meat, will cost around 150,000 won. Each set will be limited to 600 units.

We prepared this market to ease the purchasing burden for consumers looking for Hanwoo before Chuseok and help them prepare a plentiful holiday.

Sixteen meat brands and two brands specializing in byproducts and processed foods will participate, bringing the total to 18 brands. The event will also offer gift-certificate draws for new members and first-time buyers, along with certificates based on purchase amounts.

Min Kyung-chun, chairman of the committee, said the market was prepared to ease the burden on consumers buying Hanwoo before Chuseok. A separate “2026 Surprise Korea Hanwoo Sale” will run nationwide from Sept. 12 to 24 at agricultural cooperatives, large retailers and Hanwoo producer associations.
