Onlinekhabar to unveil '40 Under 40' list of influential young Nepalis

Onlinekhabar is set to unveil its third annual '40 Under 40' list, recognizing influential young Nepalis. President Ram Chandra Paudel will present awards to the selected individuals at a ceremony in Lalitpur on International Youth Day.

The primary job of the press is to expose the problems and ills facing the nation and society. At the same time, it is also our job to share the country’s successes with everyone and encourage potential.

The initiative, launched three years ago, aims to spotlight young people making significant contributions to society, particularly amidst national challenges. This year's ceremony marks the third edition of the list, following previous publications in 2024 and 2025.

The selection committee, composed of notable figures including former Supreme Court Justice Anil Kumar Sinha and Onlinekhabar's Editor-in-Chief Basanta Basnet, finalized the list after a rigorous four-month process. Approximately 1,500 nominations were received through online applications and recommendations.

For three years now, we have continued this work by publishing a list of forty young people under the age of forty. In the days ahead as well, we will continue this search, fairly and effectively, for young people who show society the way forward.

Basnet emphasized the press's dual role: exposing national problems while also celebrating successes and encouraging potential. He stated that the '40 Under 40' list serves this purpose by identifying and honoring young individuals who are guiding society forward. He also expressed gratitude to the team, readers, newsrooms, bureaus, and sponsors for their continued support of the initiative.
