Onuachu faces competition as Trabzonspor eye Richarlison

Paul Onuachu could face a new rival for a starting place at Trabzonspor if Tottenham forward Richarlison completes his proposed move to the Turkish club.

Richarlison has reportedly agreed personal terms with Trabzonspor and prefers a move to Turkey. The deal remains unfinished, however, after Tottenham rejected two offers from the Turkish side. Trabzonspor is expected to return with an improved bid as it tries to complete the transfer before the Turkish window closes.

The Brazilian’s arrival would add another established striker to a forward line that already includes Onuachu, an important part of the team’s attack. Onuachu had an impressive 2025/26 campaign, helping Trabzonspor win the Turkish Cup and establishing himself as one of the club’s leading attacking outlets.

Trabzonspor vice-president Zeyyat Kafkas previously said the club wanted to retain the core of its squad, including Onuachu. A substantial offer could still change that position. For now, the two clubs must agree on a fee before Richarlison can join and compete with Onuachu for opportunities.
