Opposition: Order for Vučić Recognizes Billions Extracted by Chinese Firms

Dušan Nikezić, vice-president of Serbia's opposition Freedom and Justice Party (SSP), has strongly criticized the awarding of an order to Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić by Chinese President Xi Jinping. Nikezić asserted that the award is a recognition of the billions of euros that Chinese companies have extracted from Serbia's economy.

Nikezić, who is also an SSP member of parliament, argued that the honor bestowed upon Vučić by Xi Jinping directly correlates with the financial benefits Chinese companies have gained through their operations in Serbia. He suggested that the award serves as a symbolic acknowledgment of these substantial financial outflows facilitated during Vučić's presidency. The opposition figure's statement frames the award not as a diplomatic gesture of goodwill, but as a transactional acknowledgment of economic arrangements perceived as detrimental to Serbia.
