Organ Vida Festival Focuses on Daily Life Surrounded by Rapidly Changing Images and Information

The Organ Vida festival, a significant event on the domestic and international art scene for nearly two decades, is currently presenting five exhibitions that will remain open until September 6. Founded in 2008, this independent, non-profit organization focuses on contemporary photography and image-based artistic practices.

Through its exhibitions, educational programs, residencies, and publishing projects, Organ Vida consistently fosters critical reflection on the creation, circulation, and impact of the images we consume daily. The biennial festival, held at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb, brings together established and emerging artists from around the globe.

This year's festival is curated by Barbara Gregov, Lovro Japundžić, and Lea Vene, under the theme "Happy in the Vortex." This theme delves into the everyday reality of being surrounded by images, information, and content that change at a rapid pace, reflecting the nature of modern visual consumption.

The festival aims to explore the complex relationship between individuals and the overwhelming flow of visual data in contemporary life. It encourages a deeper understanding of how these images shape our perceptions and experiences, prompting viewers to critically engage with the visual environment.
