Osh offers prizes for ditching cars and cycling to work

The city administration of Osh is inviting residents and visitors to participate in an environmental initiative called the "Day Without a Car - To Work by Bicycle" challenge. The campaign aims to popularize eco-friendly transportation, decrease reliance on automobiles, and foster a cleaner, healthier urban environment.

The challenge kicks off on August 28 and will continue every Friday until October 5, which is Osh City Day. To join, participants must commit to leaving their cars at home on a designated day and cycling to work. They are encouraged to share photos or short videos of their commute on social media, using specific hashtags like #УнаасызБирКүн (Day Without a Car) and #ОшВелосипедте (Osh on a Bicycle).

Participants are also invited to nominate colleagues or friends, passing on the challenge and encouraging wider involvement. The city administration plans to acknowledge the most active and creative participants on its official social media channels. Special recognition and gifts await those who stand out in the "Most Active Participant" category, celebrating their commitment to sustainable transport.
