Osheaga festival tightens bag policy, requires transparent bags

Festival-goers heading to Montreal's Osheaga music festival this weekend will encounter a new and significantly stricter bag policy. The festival announced that large bags, including backpacks, must be transparent and cannot exceed dimensions of 30 x 30 x 23 cm. Smaller bags, such as fanny packs, are permitted to be opaque.

In addition to the bag restrictions, Osheaga is emphasizing sustainability with available water filling stations throughout the grounds. Attendees can bring empty reusable water bottles and hydration packs through security. Prohibited items include aerosol containers, coolers, recording equipment, speakers, drones, and outside food. The festival will also feature prominent artists like Twenty One Pilots, Tate McRae, and Lorde, alongside a strong lineup of Canadian talent.

Osheaga also reiterated its commitment to being a safe space for all attendees, including the LGBTQ+ community and vulnerable individuals. Staff are trained in vigilance and security procedures. A Montreal-based harm reduction organization, Grip, will be on-site to provide information on drug use. The festival strictly forbids illegal substances, and all cannabis products must be in sealed SQDC packaging, with no sale or consumption permitted on site.
