Osimhen returns to Galatasaray as Ejuke begins Sevilla pre-season training

Nigerian international footballers Victor Osimhen and Chidera Ejuke are back with their respective clubs, Galatasaray and Sevilla, to commence preparations for the upcoming 2026/27 season. Osimhen is expected to rejoin Turkish champions Galatasaray on Friday after an extended summer break, following a demanding domestic and international schedule.

Osimhen's delayed return had fueled speculation about his future, with reported interest from Atletico Madrid and Saudi Pro League clubs. However, Turkish media indicate his absence was sanctioned by head coach Okan Buruk and unrelated to any transfer. The striker, who completed a permanent €75 million move from Napoli in 2025, justified the investment with 15 league goals and significant contributions in the UEFA Champions League last season. Despite transfer rumors, Osimhen has publicly expressed his desire to stay at Galatasaray, who are preparing for pre-season matches in Austria and a friendly against Villarreal.

Meanwhile, Chidera Ejuke has already reported for duty at Sevilla, beginning pre-season training on Thursday. Both players are transitioning back into club football after their off-season break, with their clubs gearing up for the new campaign.
