Osun APC Lampoons Defector, Says Resignation Style is Ineffective

The Osun State chapter of Nigeria's All Progressives Congress (APC) has strongly criticized the recent trend of members resigning from the party, describing the method as "orchestrated" and lacking in political sophistication. The party asserts that this predictable pattern of defections fails to achieve its intended effect of portraying the APC as being in crisis.

Whoever had invented the manner of the resignation of the APC members in trickles would by now have observed that the aim and objective of the style of the resignation, which is predictable, has become unpopular and irritating to the discerning members of the public who have been following the unfolding political events in the state.

In a statement issued by Mogaji Kola Olabisi, the Osun State APC Director of Media and Information, the party argued that the repetitive and "tiresome" nature of these resignations has become "unpopular and irritating" to the public. The APC suggested that those involved in this "boring defection game" should reconsider their strategies, as their current approach is "obsolete, tiresome, and boring."

The party further alleged that some individuals resigning from the APC, who allegedly struggle to manage their own households, are orchestrating these departures on a "cash-and-carry basis" for as little as N5 million per person. The APC commended its loyal members and supporters, stating that their prayers for the unmasking and removal of obstacles to their governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), have been answered.

It is pertinent for the actors in the unusual and boring defection game to go back to their drawing board for another style of effecting their nefarious political activities, as the ongoing ones have proven to be obsolete, tiresome, and boring.

While acknowledging the constitutional right to freedom of association, the APC emphasized that moral considerations should take precedence. The party concluded by expressing its continuous collective prayer for divine exposure of any "hidden dissidents" within the party whose actions might undermine AMBO's electoral victory in the upcoming August 15, 2026 election.

It is funny that those who could not even effectively manage their households are among those who have been rolling out the resignation letters, which investigation confirmed to be on a cash-and-carry basis for as little as N5 million per head.
