Osun NNPP Chair Resigns, Takes Up Acting Chairman Role in New Party

Tosin Odeyemi has resigned as the Osun State Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), taking up a new role as the acting state chairman for the Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA). His resignation letter, dated July 16, was sent to the NNPP National Chairman, though he did not specify the reasons for his departure.

Odeyemi announced his new position on Saturday, sharing his appointment letter dated July 17, signed by DLA National Chairman Samuel Memeh. The appointment was approved by the DLA's National Executive Committee (NEC).

In his new capacity, Odeyemi is tasked with establishing party structures, upholding the DLA's constitution and ideology, and reporting progress to the National Working Committee (NWC). He expressed gratitude for the confidence placed in him and vowed to unite genuine members, ensure discipline, and position the DLA as a viable alternative for Osun residents seeking purposeful leadership.

Following the approval of the National Executive Committee (NEC) and acting pursuant to the powers of the National Chairman and the National Working Committee (NWC) under the Constitution of the Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA), you are hereby appointed as the Acting State Chairman (Protem) of the Osun State Chapter of the Party with immediate effect.

He assured the DLA national leadership of transparency in the Osun chapter's operations and called for support from members and stakeholders. This move comes shortly after Odeyemi was re-elected as the NNPP Osun State chairman during a congress monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission and party national officials.
