Osun poll: Bury plans to defect, back APC’s Oyebamiji, Senator tells supporters

Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi has called on his supporters in Osun Central to stay loyal to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and abandon any plans to defect, despite their unhappiness with the recent senatorial primary election results.

I know many of you are not happy with what you described as a political coup called the primary election conducted by our party.

Addressing supporters at his campaign office in Osogbo, Fadeyi acknowledged their displeasure, describing the primary as a "political coup." He assured them that party leaders are working to resolve the issues and urged them to remain steadfast in their commitment to the APC's goal of winning the governorship election.

Whoever is planning to decamp to any other political party should bury such plans and remain steadfast in the APC. Our strength lies in our unity, loyalty, and commitment to the progressive ideals of our great party.

Fadeyi stressed the importance of unity and loyalty to the party's progressive ideals. He cited statements from national party leaders, including President Bola Tinubu and National Leader Bisi Akande, supporting consensus candidacy. Fadeyi specifically mentioned that APC National Secretary Senator Ajibola Basiru affirmed the party's right to select candidates through consensus rather than primaries.

He encouraged party faithful to stay peaceful and focused on mobilizing support for the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji. Fadeyi promised that all concerns stemming from the primary election process would be addressed through appropriate party channels. The meeting concluded with supporters reaffirming their commitment to unity and collective effort for the APC's victory.
