Osun poll: I’m a bulldozer, not afraid of Federal might, Adeleke

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has asserted his confidence ahead of the governorship election, describing himself as a "bulldozer" ready to confront any perceived federal influence backing his opponent. Adeleke, the Accord Party candidate, stated at the Arise Townhall Meeting that the support of federal might and governors for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate would not sway the election's outcome.

He characterized the governors supporting his rival as friends, noting that while they could participate in campaigning, their votes would not count in the election. "Those governors are my friends. I am a civilised administrator. They won’t vote; they can only come and dance, and after the election, we will meet," he added.

Adeleke also addressed accusations that his administration had militarized Osun State. He refuted these claims, explaining that as governor, he does not possess the constitutional power to deploy the armed forces. "I did not militarise Osun. I have no such capacity. I am not the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces," he stated.
