Osun Rep wins Accord ticket for third term

Bamidele Salam, chairman of the House of Representatives Public Accounts Committee, has won the Accord Party ticket to seek a third term representing the Ede North/Ede South/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections. The primary election was held in Ede, Osun State.

It feels great, encouraging and challenging to have another term because whatever one is doing that people are applauding, one should be more determined and more focused to do more.

Salam, first elected in 2019 and reelected in 2023 under the People Democratic Party, recently defected to the Accord Party. He joined Governor Ademola Adeleke and six other federal lawmakers from Osun State who also left the PDP due to internal crises.

Emerging through an affirmation vote supervised by Accord National Publicity Secretary Joseph Omorogbe, Salam pledged to enhance developmental projects within his constituency. He also expressed a commitment to collaborating with colleagues and executives to develop a robust security architecture for Nigeria.

I am so humbled by this great support from the people of Ede North/ Ede South/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency.

He thanked his constituents and Governor Adeleke for their confidence and support, emphasizing that the new mandate represents a call for greater sacrifice and service.

I want to thank God Almighty for giving me this privilege and I thank the governor of the state, His Excellency, Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke for having confidence in me.

Looking ahead, Salam aims to expand the scope of his good works, building on the agenda set in 2019. He believes legislative interventions will bring more infrastructure amenities to his constituency, acknowledging that there is still a long way to go in facilitating development.
