Adeleke, the candidate for the ACCORD party, was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission. He garnered 511,067 votes, defeating his closest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, who secured 444,815 votes. The State Returning Officer, Prof. Joshua Ogunwole, announced the final results on Sunday morning.
