#OsunDecides2026: Results from polling units (LIVE UPDATES)

Voting has wrapped up across Osun State, Nigeria, as residents await the results of the governorship election that will determine the state's leader for the next four years. Polling stations opened at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday across the state's 30 local government areas, encompassing 3,763 polling units. Initial reports from PREMIUM TIMES reporters indicate a mixed turnout, described as impressive in some polling units and notably low in others.

Amidst the electoral process, observers noted several instances of vote buying in numerous polling units. Fifteen political parties are competing for the governorship seat. Osun State has a total of 2,399,233 registered voters, but only 1,906,390 individuals collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), making them eligible to participate in the election. The results are set to be announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) presiding officers at each polling unit.

Following the initial announcements, results will undergo collation at two levels: ward and local government. The final collation is scheduled to take place at the INEC headquarters in Osogbo, the state capital. The election process unfolds across 332 wards within the 30 local government areas of the South-west state.
