Outgoing chief economist Carl-Johan Dalgaard to become commentator for Børsen

Carl-Johan Dalgaard, the departing chairman of Denmark's Economic Council, is set to take on a new role as an external commentator for the financial daily Børsen. His commentary will begin in September, following his exit from the council.

Dalgaard has been the chief economist of the Economic Council since 2020. In his new capacity at Børsen, he will regularly contribute commentary on pressing economic and political issues, both within Denmark and on a global scale. The Danish Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Interior announced his departure from the council, noting that practical considerations had led him to extend his tenure slightly beyond his initial plans.

Børsen's editor-in-chief, Nikolaj Sommer, expressed enthusiasm for Dalgaard's appointment. He emphasized the need for greater expertise and insight in public debate and policy decisions. Sommer stated that Dalgaard, as the outgoing chief economist, is undoubtedly the most qualified economic commentator the newspaper could secure for its pages.

Dalgaard himself had initially intended to step down at the end of the year but adjusted his timeline due to practical reasons. His move to Børsen signifies a continued engagement with public discourse on economic matters, bringing his significant experience to a wider audience through the newspaper's platform.
