Owner of Croatian restaurant receives one-star reviews due to mistaken identity after violent incident

Toni Ivanišević, owner of the Konoba Rudine restaurant in Kaštel Novi, is facing a barrage of one-star reviews and negative online attention. This backlash stems from a case of mistaken identity, as his establishment shares a similar name with another restaurant in Primošten. The Primošten establishment's owner is under investigation after a video surfaced showing him throwing wooden boxes in a fit of rage, with one box hitting a baby stroller.

Ivanišević, who has a history of charitable activities, expressed his frustration to Slobodna Dalmacija. "People are writing me one-star reviews. I am known for numerous humanitarian actions, which your journalists have also reported on, so I would like people to know that my establishment has nothing to do with this case," he stated.

His past good deeds include organizing food distribution for the needy and, during the COVID-19 pandemic, offering his vans and time to help elderly and disabled individuals with shopping and deliveries in the Split, Kaštela, and Trogir areas. In 2020, he also supported a young victim of bullying in Kaštela, helping to renovate the victim's home.

The incident in Primošten has led to the arrest of that restaurant's owner, and police are conducting an investigation. The Municipality of Primošten has strongly condemned the violent behavior, stating that the safety of citizens and visitors is a priority.
